পাবনার সুজানগরে মসজিদের মাইকে ঘোষণা দিয়ে পুলিশের ওপর হামলা করার অভিযোগ উঠেছে কার্যক্রম নিষিদ্ধ আওয়ামী লীগের নেতাকর্মীদের বিরুদ্ধে। হামলায় আহত হয়েছেন সুজানগর থানার ওসি মোজাফফর হোসেন ও কনস্টেবল সবুজ।
আজ বৃহস্পতিবার রাত সাড়ে ৪টার দিকে উপজেলার মথুরাপুর এলাকার দোপপাড়ায় ঘটে এ ঘটনা। তথ্যের সত্যতা নিশ্চিত করেছেন পাবনার পুলিশ সুপার মো. ছুফি উল্লাহ।
পুলিশ জানিয়েছে, বুধবার মধ্যরাতে বিশ্বকাপ ফুটবলের একটি বিশেষ ম্যাচ থাকায় ভোররাত পর্যন্ত মথুরাপুর এলাকায় ফুটবল উন্মাদনা ও আমেজ বিরাজ করছিল।
পুলিশের কাছে গোপন সংবাদ ছিল যে, এই সুযোগটি ব্যবহার করে কার্যক্রম নিষিদ্ধ আওয়ামী লীগের সুজানগর উপজেলা শাখার সভাপতি আব্দুল ওহাবের নেতৃত্বে নেতাকর্মীরা সেখানে নাশকতার পরিকল্পনা করছে। এমন সংবাদের ভিত্তিতে দুটি গাড়িতে পুলিশের একটি টহল দল মথুরাপুরের দোপপাড়া এলাকায় যায়
